Who can take part?

The course is aimed at immigrant doctors who have completed a medical degree in their home country and have to take the C1 specialist language examination at the Medical Association in order to obtain their licence to practise medicine.

Structure and goals

In the special module C1 “Academic Healthcare Professions”, you will acquire general and specialised language skills at level C1. You will be prepared for everyday working life in a clinic or practice in Germany by teaching you the specific skills you need to communicate competently with patients, relatives, the team and colleagues in a medical workplace.

These courses will train your understanding of medical topics in Germany as well as their practical application in all related communication situations. The aim is to enable you to transfer the knowledge you have acquired in your home country into German so that you can continue to work successfully in your profession.

A further component of the course is the intensive preparation for the specialist language examination required for your licence to practise medicine from the State Medical Association

These courses are funded by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs / the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) – in accordance with § 13 DeuFöV as part of the nationwide vocational German language support programme in accordance with § 45a DeuFöV.
